Angie Mata

Transport Organizer

Being a transport organizer, we face a lot of challenges in our day to day engagement with our fellow transport workers. We have to be firm but gentle in such a way they will feel our sincerity in helping them to sustain the PUVMP. We always make it to a point that it we will have a just transition, so that no one will be left behind in the process of improving our transport system. At the same time, we also want to improve the lives of our transport workers -- be it a driver, PAO, or any allied worker for the matter.

I envision that as the transport system develops, transport workers are able to achieve a sustainable livelihood with job security and livable wages. Part of this vision is to make transport cooperatives more gender balanced, creating a safe space for women's visibility and empowerment.
