The Philippines has a massive public transport crisis and shortage
This was exacerbated at the height of COVID-19, where we saw jeepney drivers losing jobs and healthcare workers unable to go to work due to the crippling public transportation measures. This compelled a group of friends to support these vulnerable sectors by pushing for policies and programs to safely get frontline workers to where they needed to go.

Since then, the group has grown to include 77,000 individuals and more than 140 Filipino organizations as Move as One Coalition, which advocates for a safer, more humane, and more inclusive public transportation system in the Philippines.

Together, we #MoveAsOne.

  • #CommutersNaman
For decades, mobility in the Philippines has been designed with a car-centric approach. We are working towards policies, programs, and budget allocation that prioritizes the needs of Filipino commuters.

  • Just Transition
We advocate for a just transition towards PUV modernization. We believe that ‘modernization na may malasakit’ is the best approach for all stakeholders involved – commuters, jeepney drivers, and jeepney operators alike.

  • Inclusive Mobility
Our cities aren’t safe to move around in until all of us feel safe doing so. We advocate for the safe and humane mobility of our elderly, persons with disability (PWDs), pregnant women, and parents with small children; a transportation system that considers the needs of all.

  • People-centric Infrastracture
We are fighting for infrastructure that puts people first. From protected bike lanes, to spacious...

#CommutersNaman
For decades, mobility in the Philippines has been designed with a car-centric approach. We are working towards policies, programs, and budget allocation that prioritizes the needs of Filipino commuters.

Just Transition for PUVs
We advocate for a just transition towards PUV modernization. We believe that ‘modernization na may malasakit’ is the best approach for all stakeholders involved – commuters, jeepney drivers, and jeepney operators alike.

Inclusive Mobility
Our cities aren’t safe to move around in until all of us feel safe doing so. We advocate for the safe and humane mobility of our elderly, persons with disability (PWDs), pregnant women, and parents with small children — a transportation system that considers the needs of all.

Protected Bike Lanes
Cycling is a sustainable, cost-effective, and healthy mode of transport and yet, very little of our infrastructure makes our bike commuters feel safe on the road. For them, we demand #ProtectedBikeLanesNow.

Biyahenihan
Biyahenihan, from the words “biyahe” and “bayanihan”, is about working together. Government, private sector, civil society, and other organizations must work hand in hand to improve mobility and transport in the Philippines.
